Info Architecture vs Data Architecture

Definitions by ApTSI:

Data Architecture: the definition of data structures within a subject area or domain.  (No suprise there, but here is the interesting distinction ...)

Information Architecture: the architectural elements for the management of information within an enterprise or organization.

This distinction is crucial to effective mangement iof information! So often the two are confused.  The LSV model makes the distinction clear by placing the enterprise canonical data model in the center "floor" (viewable from the top), while placing the elements (components) that manage it around its periphery.
